Norwegian gambling jumps 6.1%

Norway’s online gambling market jumped by a substantial 6.1% in 2007 with statistics by the Norwegian Gambling Commission showing approximately 244,000 Norwegians gambled online in 2007.

The stats show Norwegian citizens spending about Euro 961 million with the Norwegian Lotto topping the chart with 48% of expenditure followed by online poker at 28%.  Norway’s love of sport followed with a 27% showing by the sports betting sector while online bingo was part of the casino games statistic with showed 7% of expenditure.

While a definitive number for those who play bingo games online in Norway is not stated in the statistics, bingo online industry insiders point out that online bingo enjoys good support amongst the country’s female demographic of online gamblers.
