Playtech taps Hollywood pull
Online bingo games and online gaming software developer Playtech has become the latest company to incorporate a Hollywood film franchise/title into their range of products.
A popular choice with many UK online bingo operators and online bingo halls, Playtech has signed a deal with Paramount Pictures to release and distribute slots with titles based on mega-hit movies such as ‘Gladiator’ and ‘The Untouchables’.The gambling industry has a history of producing entertainment-based themes into games which seem to do well in generating revenue. Examples in the past include Elvis-themed slots that did very well in the land casinos of Las Vegas.
Mor Weizer, Playtech’s CEO, claimed to be “pleased” with the deal saying via a prepared statement: “We are confident this exclusive material supplied to our licensees will support their marketing efforts by increasing the profile of their games portfolio and enhancing the gaming experience for customers.”
