Spain to issue e-gaming licenses by 2009

With quite a few UK online bingo halls launching Spanish language versions of their online bingo games operations, it’s probably a matter of good timing that Spain’s current licensing system may soon be replaced by a better run nation-wide system by early 2009.

Online gaming publication e-Gaming Review has reported the topic was a recent major discussion point between federal and regional gaming authorities. If Spain does move towards a nationally regulated online gaming system, online bingo operators will amongst the first to take advantage of the opportunities.   Spain is already recognized as being a growing market for people who play online bingo.

Reports say Spanish federal and regional authorities will be meeting once again by autumn.  This should herald in the drafting process for a nationally regulated system by this time.
