Romance to Marriage over Bingo for senior couple
Saturday, August 15th, 2009Pat Bongailas met Ron Simms over a game of bingo at a bingo game at the Hungerford Housing Scheme in Emerson’s Valley, Milton Keynes. This was two years ago. This meeting blossomed into friendship and then romance and now this lovely couple is all set to get married!
Ron is a sprightly 75 and his blushing bride is 72. The ceremony will be held at the Bletchley Register Office according to the local newspaper, the Milton Keynes Citizen. Ron Simms spoke to reporters from this paper about his romantic proposal to Ms. Bongailas and said “I got down on two knees instead of one knee because Pat is twice as special. Everyone applauded when Pat said yes.”
Nora Gibbard, Warden of the Hungerford housing scheme spoke about the couple- “They are a wonderful couple and it’s been lovely to watch the romance blossom.”
Ron and Pat share many interests apart from playing bingo. Both like to play darts and also love taking day trips to different places. For their honeymoon they’re both all set to take a trip to Felixtowne situated on the coast in Suffolk.
Here is a beautiful example of just how playing bingo can end up changing people’s lives and it’s not always a cash jackpot that is the prize. Here, friendship and love have bloomed and marriage bells have been rung! The bingo halls across the UK have been the centre of social activity in many villages and towns. Very often the bingo hall is where all the entertainment and social interaction occurs.
We, at Eyes down bingo wish Ron and Pat many years of happiness and our heartiest congratulations.
