Iceland is a chain of markets better associated with frozen food than it is with online bingo so we were a bit surprised to be provided with the opportunity to join Iceland Bingo recently.
It must be said that we have never registered with Iceland Bingo or provided it with an email address so just how we came to be receiving this offer from Iceland is mystifying.
That is right, we are being spammed, we are not talking about the canned variety here, but rather in the form of an email promising us sign up bonuses and free cash.
Upon closer inspection of the Free offers it also turns out that money has to be spent to get access to the free offers.
Iceland Bingo offers a 200% sign up bonus plus a free £5 Iceland Voucher. Bingo players are only able to get the £5 Iceland voucher once they wagered £10 on games.
Iceland Bingo is part of the Dragonfish Bingo network of sites and shares player liquidity with a large amount of bingo rooms.
They also share the same competitions and bonuses and do not have much to offer that is unusual apart from the £5 Iceland Voucher that you have to wager £10 on games to get.
If Iceland Bingo is wondering why we are going on this mini rant re it, it is because we have never asked for this email and seem to be getting it from one of their spam affiliates.
They are obviously running a campaign to try to attract players and are simply emailing their entire database.
We have un-subscribed using the un-subscribe option but wonder how long it will be before we get another Iceland Bingo offer. We wonder why companies with no gaming experience are climbing on the Online Bingo bandwagon.
It can not be to offer their players with a great bingo experience as they have no knowledge of online bingo.
We think it is down to pure corporate greed. The ability to cross sell products to an existing customer base and to monetize it must be tempting.
As a Bingo player myself i tend to avoid bingo rooms like this. They do not offer any incentive to join, I would far rather entertain myself at bingo rooms that offer a wider variety of promotions and prizes.
Our current top Dragonfish Bingo room is Pink Ribbon Bingo which donates a large percentage of its earnings to a Breast Cancer charity. That in our opinion deserves some of our time and play.
Thus the title of our article using that old English expression Begads.
A definition of the word is “an expression of surprise, shock”. Iceland in our opinion would do better to check their food supply chain and leave online bingo to those who know how to do it.
