When it comes to choosing an online bingo site often players will look for a no deposit required bonus. Where once upon a time pretty much all sites offered these, they had become a bit of a rarity. That said we’ve seen a marked increase over recent months.
However, we were once guaranteed a no deposit bonus from most Microgaming Bingo sites but in the last week, the brands have moved the bonus goal posts.
First came Dream Bingo, Bingo On The Box and Betway who previously had offers of £15 free, no deposit required. Last week these were removed from all the sites and replaced with a slightly higher cash match offer on first deposit.
Butlers and Glossy Bingo had dropped their no deposit offers a while ago but a recent change has seen them shave a little of the percentage off the cash match bonuses offered (or at least they will have in the next few days).
We were informed that the bonus from these two bingo brands would be just 250% instead of the 300% now offered by Butlers and 400% from Glossy.
Simon Dunne, the Affiliate Manager at Broadway Gaming suggests that the drop in bonus will only benefit the players. With less bonus funds being added into the pot, the chances of winning are increased for players using cash to buy tickets according to Mr Dunne and additionally, the pot will increase faster with more cash spent on tickets than bonuses.
Of course, this may well be true but it isn’t something that a new bingo player to a site will consider when being comparative. For example:
Site A using the Microgaming software has a 300% cash match bonus whilst site B is only offering a 250% deal. The wagering requirements and withdrawal rules are the same at both sites (although not all players check this information), why would a player choose site B remembering that the information about better pot prizes and ‘increased chances of winning’ has only been disseminated to the likes of us here at Eyes Down?
Let’s be honest, the chances are that the player will opt for site A and whilst the current players at site B will be rubbing their hands with glee at being luckier, the new players will be staying away in droves.
