UK’s luckiest bingo town is Harrogate

A survey conducted by bingo giant Gala Bingo has thrown up some interesting results. The luckiest town in the UK for bingo players is Harrogate, in North Yorkshire. This town has the highest average win per player in the entire country.

Exeter came in second as far as being the luckiest town to play bingo in. The top 5 towns in the UK for winning at bingo, according to this survey conducted by Gala Bingo, are Harrogate, Exeter, Dudley, Cleveland and Norwich.

The average wins per individual bingo player was calculated to determine the ‘luckiest’ town for bingo players.

“It was really interesting to discover Harrogate is the UK’s luckiest town,” said Lesely Hall, the bingo firm’s online PR manager. “Who knows what makes the town so lucky, but perhaps it is the magical properties in the water?” Harrogate has been known for its spa waters with healing properties just like Bath.

Looking at the wider picture the North East region showed the best figures for bingo wins and is, as such, the luckiest region in the UK. Wales came in second and Northern Ireland came in at the third position.

Gala Bingo has many bingo clubs all over the UK and has been doing all it can to boost the land based bingo business which has not been doing very well in the recent past. Burdened with a steep bingo tax, reduced member attendance as a result of the smoking ban, the global financial recession are some factors that have severely affected business and numerous bingo clubs across the UK have been shut down in the last year.

Bingo operators are putting in every effort to rejuvenate this popular numbers game that is enjoyed by the British public across the nation.  This survey gives players one more reason to go out and play their favourite bingo game, especially if you happen to live in Harrogate!
