Online Bingo in the USA — The Honest Position
Eight states allow online casino gaming. Almost none of them give you a real bingo room. Here is what actually exists, and what to avoid.
Where Online Casino Gaming Is Legal
Eight states, plus Nevada for poker only. Everywhere else has no regulated option at all.

The minimum age is 21 in every state above, not 18. Each state runs its own regulator and its own approved game list, and you must be physically inside the state to play.
Why There Is So Little American Bingo
If you have come here from a UK bingo site expecting the American equivalent, there isn't one. Regulated real-money online bingo barely exists in the United States.
Bingo is a permitted game type in several of the states above. That is not the same as it being available. Regulated operators build for slots, live dealer tables and sports betting, because that is where the revenue is. Bingo needs scheduled games, chat hosts and enough players in a room at once to make a prize worth chasing — and a single state is a small pool to fill.
Where bingo does appear on a regulated site, it is usually a handful of RNG titles rather than a room. You are playing against a paytable, not against other people.
What actually exists in America
- Charitable bingo halls. Legal in most states, run for churches, veterans' organisations and community groups. This is where American bingo genuinely lives.
- Tribal bingo. Substantial operations on tribal land, and the legal foundation for a great deal of American gaming.
- Bingo-shaped games at regulated casinos. Slingo, video bingo, instant bingo. Worth knowing about; not the same thing as a bingo room.
- Offshore sites. Plenty, and they will take your deposit. See below.
Two Things We Will Not Recommend
Offshore bingo rooms
Sites licensed in Curacao, Costa Rica or Panama have accepted American players for years without much challenge. Long-standing is not the same as legal, and neither is the same as safe.
What you give up is everything the licence is for: no state regulator, no dispute process, no requirement that player funds are held separately from the operator's own money, and no recourse if a withdrawal is simply refused. If it goes wrong there is nobody to complain to.

Sweepstakes casinos
You will see a lot of American "free" bingo and casino apps running a dual-currency sweepstakes model: buy one currency, receive another that can be redeemed for cash. It is a route around state licensing, and states have spent 2026 closing it.
Bans are now in force in California, Indiana, Maine, New York, Louisiana and Tennessee, with more legislation moving. California's took effect on 1 January 2026. Illinois regulators ordered 65 operators to block residents or face civil and criminal penalties.
The practical risk to a player is simple. When an operator exits a state at short notice, the balance in your account is not protected the way a licensed operator's would be. People have found their accounts closed with money still in them.
