Wherever it started, it travels well. The basics match any other version: numbers are called, and you mark them off.
What makes it different from 90 ball
The 90 ball game gives you lines and a full house. That is the whole scope.
This version offers far more. The card is a grid, which allows for patterns. You win by being first to complete a shape agreed before the game starts.
The Card Explained
Five rows, five columns, 25 squares. The centre is usually free.

The Ways to Win
Pattern games
Each game plays for one set shape. It might be a sun, a heart or the four corners.
Take the Sun pattern as an example. On a Dragonfish card you would need B 9, 11 and 4, then every number in the I, N and G columns, then O 62, 74 and 69.
Multi-part games
Some venues run a three-part game. It works like the three chances in 90 ball, but with shapes instead of lines.
One example ran a Sub pattern, then a Coffee Mug, then the Coverall. Coverall is this format's full house.
The first part can go quickly. On that Sub pattern you needed just five numbers: B 11, 6 and 10, plus I 30 and 21.
Five-line bingo
This version arrived online around 2011. It is probably the most popular of the lot, and the reason is simple. It gives you the most chances to win.
There are five prizes: one line, two lines, three, four, and five lines. The last one is the coverall.
Venues handle the prizes differently. Some pay the same for every line. Others increase the pot as you go. First-line rules vary too — some accept any straight line, others count only diagonal and vertical.
Jackpots and Prizes
Three things decide the prize: the venue, the ticket price, and how many people play.
Promotional games break that rule. They may guarantee a cash jackpot, or offer something physical like a car. Ticket sales do not affect the value.
Progressive jackpots are common here as well. You win by calling coverall within a set number of calls. The pot grows from a slice of every ticket sold.
