Microgaming has announced that they are to close the bingo network that they are currently running. This news is not exactly a surprise as the popular casino software maker seeks to concentrate on casino games instead.

When Will Microgaming Bingo Close
As of now, there is no definitive date for the shutdown. Microgaming are playing their cards close to their chest and have not made this knowledge public. Right now they are the smallest UK Bingo network with a handful of bingo sites running.
Current bingo sites include Butlers Bingo, 32Red Bingo and Danske Spil. Let’s make no mistake as to the cause of the shutdown. There were no dedicated bingo sites outside of the Butlers Bingo group. Rather it was a case of Casino operators adding the bingo on as an add on.
The UK which is the biggest bingo market in the world is also a highly competitive one with numerous bingo rooms vying for players attention. Microgaming has not been able to sustain its player database despite having some fantastic games.
Some of the bingo variation games including Immortal Romance Bingo are fantastic bingo experiences. It’s a pity that this will now fall by the wayside.
Microgaming got into the world of bingo by buying bingo software. It is feasible that this very same software might be resold to someone else and be relabelled.
An example of this was the sale of Cozy Games and its bingo software to GVC. The current software is now named Electracade and has some of the biggest names in bingo on the platform.
This is a sad day for bingo players as it does mean less choice. Microgaming Bingo sites have in the past delivered some amazing wins for bingo players. It includes a £5.5 Million Jackpot win on the now-defunct Dark Knight Slot game.
What about Microgaming Slots
Luckily for bingo players, the most popular bingo network in the United Kingdom has recently added Microgaming Slots to their library of games.
This, of course, is the Dragonfish Bingo network which boasts some fantastic bingo games and now an even better selection of online slots. Luckily we will still have access to all of those games including Mega Moolah, Thunderstruck 2 and Immortal Romance.
